A note from Ricky
Right, here's what's happened.
If you've had a tree off me before, hello again. If you came here from the Theydon Christmas Trees site wondering where everything's gone, this is the short version.
The farm at Theydon is no longer operating. Nobody's been able to look after it the way a farm needs, so the trees have deteriorated, grown into each other and gone rather wonky. Lovely for the birds, bunnies and deer. Not what you want in your front room.
Here's the thing, though. Some of the trees you've loved the last few years weren't off the farm anyway. With drought and bad weather over the past few years, I was forced to work with premium British growers to fill our orders. They were ones I went and picked from growers I trust, and brought to your door myself.
That bit hasn't changed. It's just got my name on it now.
So: same quality trees, same bloke, same doorstep, fewer phone calls (more on that below). Order online, pick your day, and I'll see you in December.

Premium Nordmann Fir. One price, delivery in.
Nordmann is the one with soft needles that stay on the tree, not the carpet. I only buy the top grade: full, even, and dense all the way round. No seconds, no "it'll look fine from the front".

How it works
Order online. Get a text. Open the door.
1 Pick your size and your delivery day, pay by card or Apple Pay. Confirmation email lands straight away with everything on it.
2 On the morning of your delivery you get a text with a time window and a live link so you can see where I am. Another text when you're next on the route. No need to ring, I promise it's on its way.
3 I turn up, carry it in, and stick it where you want it. Not in? Tell me where to leave it in the notes at checkout and that's where it'll be.
About the phone. Last year I had more calls than trees. This year everything happens by text and email so I can be on the road rather than on the phone. If you really do need me, WhatsApp is quickest.

Deliveries run 8am to 6pm. Each day has a cap so I can give every tree the time it deserves. When a day's full it drops off the list.

The stuff people usually ask
Is this the same Ricky from Theydon Christmas Trees? +
Yes. Same bloke, same trees, same doorstep service. The farm at Theydon isn't selling trees any more, so I'm buying from the best UK growers I know and delivering under my own name.
Can I order more than one tree? +
Yes, and it pays to: your first tree is full price and every tree after it is 15% off. Add them all to the same order and they come on the same day. Buying for a school, church, pub or office? Email me and I will sort a price for a bigger order.
Where do the trees come from? +
British grown Nordmann Firs, cut fresh in the week before your delivery date. I pick them myself at the wholesaler so nothing lopsided or thin gets on the van.
What does the price include? +
Everything. The tree, netted, delivered to your door on the day you chose, and carried in and put where you want it if you're home. No delivery charge at checkout, no surprises.
When will my tree arrive? +
On the delivery date you choose at checkout, between 8am to 6pm. On the morning of your delivery you'll get a text with a closer time window and a live tracking link, and another when you're next on the route.
What if I'm not in? +
Tell me in the delivery notes where to leave it (side gate, porch, with a neighbour) and I'll do that. If there's nowhere safe I'll message you and we'll sort it.
Do you deliver to my area? +
Only to IG10, E4, IG9, CM16, IG8, E18, IG7, EN9, CM17, CM18 this year. Keeping it tight is how I keep the price down and the service personal. Type your postcode into the order box to check.
How do I keep it fresh? +
Put it in water. I know there's a theory going round that a cut tree can't drink. It's wrong. Saw a centimetre off the base, get it into a stand with water within an hour of it coming in, and top it up every day. It'll take a pint or more a day for the first week. Keep it away from radiators. A Nordmann looked after like that is still looking good well into January.
Can I pay cash? +
Yes. Choose 'deposit now, cash at the door' when you order. You pay a £20 deposit online to hold your tree and your day, and the rest in cash when I deliver, rounded to the nearest fiver so nobody's hunting for change. Cash orders get £5 off 6ft and 7ft trees and £10 off 8ft. The only rule is someone has to be in with the cash, I can't leave a cash tree by the side gate.
Can I cancel? +
Yes, up to 7 days before your delivery date for a full refund. After that the tree has been bought and cut for you, so I can't refund, but I'll always try to help if your plans change.
